Film crew, casting and equipment in Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek is the production base of the country: most crew and equipment are based here, and most locations in the Chuy region are within a day trip. Specialists from every department work in Kyrgyzstan, including English-speaking crew, so an international team can work with the local unit directly, without an interpreter on every position.

We select the crew for each project: the full unit when you come with only the creative core, or single departments when you bring your own team. The working format is international: a contract in Russian and English, an itemised estimate agreed before work begins, and one local partner accountable for the whole process.

Kyrgyzstan offers a wide range of looks for international projects: Central Asian, European and mixed types, from leads to large groups of extras. We run the casting for the project: a brief from you, a selection with photos and videos, callbacks on request, and the agreements with the actors. If you cannot decide, we help choose the cast and the crew in a consultation.

Camera, lenses, continuous lighting, grip, power and sound equipment can be rented locally. We assemble the equipment package for the project from the rental partners visual.rent and ctr.kg, from the camera to the sandbags, and bring it to the set together with the crew.

What is worth bringing from home depends on the project: a specific camera system, lenses or specialised rigs are sometimes easier to ship with the crew than to source locally. We confirm this item by item after the brief, so the estimate includes only what is actually needed.

A production in Kyrgyzstan can need dozens of services beyond crew and equipment: catering, transport and 4x4 vehicles, crew accommodation, animals, stunt performers, medical support, security, permits, local contractors, props, costumes and set construction. All of these are organised locally and fixed in the estimate before the shoot.
